Fireflies Integration

Why Connect Fireflies?

Samepage helps Product Managers stay on top of what's happening across meetings without having to attend every one. By connecting Fireflies, Samepage users can:

  • Build Signals to summarize meeting activity and surface key decisions

  • Spot action items, follow-ups, and customer feedback mentioned in calls

  • Discover feature requests and recurring themes across meetings

  • Use the Samepage Copilot to answer questions or draft documents informed by meeting transcripts

Integration Type

Personal integration — each user connects their own Fireflies account. The meeting data imported is private to that user and not visible to others in the workspace.

Data Imported

Samepage imports the following from Fireflies for each recorded meeting:

  • Meeting metadata — Title, date/time, duration, host, and participant list

  • Meeting transcript — The full transcript with speaker labels, parsed into searchable chunks. Transcripts are split into sections so the AI can search and answer questions about specific parts of longer meetings.

  • AI summary — Fireflies' AI-generated summary of the meeting, including an overview and key topics discussed

  • Action items — Tasks and follow-ups automatically identified by Fireflies during the meeting

This data is used to help Product Managers track decisions, review commitments, and stay informed across meetings.

Sync Behavior

  • Initial sync pulls meetings from the last 3 months

  • Ongoing syncs pull meetings from the last 1 week

Note for Fireflies free plan users: Fireflies' free plan is limited to 50 API requests per day. Because Samepage fetches your meeting list and each transcript individually, users with a large number of recorded meetings may find that the initial import takes several days to complete. If you're seeing a slow import, upgrading to a paid Fireflies plan will speed things up significantly.

How to Connect

  1. You must have an existing Samepage account. If you need one, sign up at samepage.ai.

  2. Go to the Integrations page in Samepage.

  3. Find and click Fireflies.

  4. Paste your Fireflies API key when prompted. To find your Fireflies API key:

    • Log in to your Fireflies account at app.fireflies.ai

    • Navigate to the Integrations section

    • Click on Fireflies API

    • Copy your API key and store it somewhere secure

  5. Click Test to verify the key is valid.

  6. Click Continue. Samepage will begin your initial sync and import the past 3 months of meetings. You can see the progress on the Integrations page.

  7. Multiple times per day, Samepage checks for and imports any new meetings. You can always manually trigger a sync by selecting the three-dot menu on the Fireflies integration and choosing "Sync."

What You Can Do After Connecting

  • Create Signals that analyze Fireflies meetings — e.g., "Summarize the latest meeting activity from Fireflies" or "Surface action items and follow-ups from this week's calls"

  • Chat with Copilot about meeting content — e.g., "What did the team decide about the pricing model in yesterday's call?" or "What feature requests came up in customer meetings this month?"

  • Combine with other data — Cross-reference meeting discussions with Jira tickets, Slack threads, or CRM data for a complete picture, e.g., "Did the customer mention any bugs not already logged in GitHub?"

Example Signal Prompt

Here's a detailed prompt you can paste into a Signal's instructions field to get a comprehensive weekly meeting digest:

Review all Fireflies meetings from the past week and produce a structured summary organized as follows:Decisions Made — List each decision along with which meeting it came from and who was involved. Link to the Fireflies meeting if available.Action Items & Follow-Ups — Pull out every action item, commitment, or next step mentioned across all meetings. For each one, note who owns it and when it's due (if mentioned). Flag anything that sounds urgent.Customer Feedback & Feature Requests — If any meetings involved customers or discussed customer input, surface the specific feedback, feature requests, or pain points mentioned. Group by theme if there are multiple.Key Themes — Identify the top 3-5 recurring topics or themes across all meetings this week. Note which meetings touched each theme.Needs Attention — Call out any meetings where a conflict, risk, open question, or unresolved issue was raised but not resolved. Include enough context that I can decide whether to follow up.

FAQ

Does this integration provide clickable links back to the source? Yes. Each Fireflies meeting has a URL that links directly to the recording and transcript in Fireflies. When a Signal or Copilot response references a meeting, it often includes a link so you can click through to review the full recording.

Does Fireflies need to be installed in my meeting platform (Zoom, Google Meet, etc.)? Yes. Fireflies works by joining your meetings as a bot recorder. You'll need to have Fireflies set up and recording your meetings before Samepage can import data from them.

Privacy

Fireflies data is never used to train AI models. Meeting transcripts and metadata are processed only to generate Signal outputs and Copilot responses. Because this is a personal integration, your meeting data is only visible to you. See Data Handling for more information.
