Adding Samepage to Private Slack Channels

If a Slack channel is private (Slack Connect or otherwise), the Samepage app must be manually added.

Once you connect Samepage and Slack, you will be able to send Samepage updates to any public Slack channel. If you would like to post updates to a private channel, you must add the Samepage app to that channel. It's a very quick process in Slack:

How to Add Samepage to a Private Slack Channel

  • In Slack, go to the private channel and click the channel name to access the channel details.

  • You will see an Integrations tab (1). Choose Add apps (2).

  • If you have already connected Slack to your Samepage account, it will be listed below. If you do not see Slack, go to the next step.

Connecting Slack for the First Time

  • If you have never connected Slack and Samepage, then you'll need to do that prior to adding to the private channel.

  • To connect Slack and Samepage, click on your profile image in Samepage, and choose Integrations.

  • Click Add to Slack icon and complete the setup. Now, All public channels can be connected to Samepage streams, and Samepage will appear as an app that can be manually added to Private Slack channels.
