There are two User Roles:
Admin - These users have access to all Streams and Updates in your Samepage account.
Member - This is the default role. Members can view all Public and Company Streams but can not view Restricted Streams unless they create (and own) the Restricted Stream, or are subscribed by the Stream Owner.
There are three Privacy options for Streams. These options affect what is visible to a user of Samepage.
Public - This is used if you would like to share Updates from a Stream with external users, not part of your Samepage account.
All {Your Company Name] - This is the default setting. All members of your Samepage account can discover, subscribe, and interact with this type of Stream.
Restricted - This type of Stream is only discoverable and accessible to the Stream Owner and Subscribers that have been added by the Stream Owner.
Stream Members can be a:
Stream Owner - All the benefits of a Subscriber plus can edit all aspects of the Stream including the ability to add and remove Subscribers.
Stream Subscriber - The Stream will be pinned to the left navigation. Subscribers can post an Update, interact with Updates, and mark Updates "read." Engagement will be counted towards Stream Views. Stream content will be included in email digests and customized Update feeds.
Stream Viewer - Can see Updates, comments, and reactions but not interact with the Update.

Privacy Option: Public
Individual Updates in a Public Stream can be viewed by anyone who receives the URL for the individual Update. To share an Update, generate a URL using the icon above the Update.
If the viewer of the update is a logged-in member of your account, the Stream will look identical to an internal stream. Users can see the associated Stream information, have the ability to subscribe to the Stream, and have access to comment, and react.
Viewers who are not logged-in members of your account will be able to view the Update and associated audio and video content. However, they can not add comments, emojis, etc. These users do not get counted as "Views" of the update.
At this time there is no way to publicly share a stream. You can only share individual updates externally.

Admin Can See All
Any user that is an Admin will have access to all Streams and Updates.
Sharing an Update Externally
A shareable URL can be created by clicking on the link icon at the top of your Update. If an update is shared with a user who is not logged in to your Samepage account they will be treated as "Public" users.
Public users can only see individual Updates if they have the correct URL and the Stream Privacy is set to Public. Otherwise, Public users will not have access to any Updates or Streams.
When Public users view your Update they will not see other updates in the Stream and they will not see Stream details.
If you want to see how your update will appear to an external user you can generate a URL from the update and view it in Incognito Mode. Ensure your Stream privacy is set to Public to test.
If a user does not have permission to see the Update they will receive a generic error. "The page you were looking for does not exist"
Can I invite users with a different email domain (guest users) outside my company?
Samepage allows you to invite anyone with an email address to your account. They will be added as a member and have full member access. To limit access for external users, only share individual updates with them and ensure your channel is set to public.
