Everything you need to manage your Samepage subscription — upgrade, downgrade, cancel, update payment, and download invoices. For a breakdown of what each plan includes, see Pricing.
Where to manage billing
All billing actions live in one place:
Settings → Billing
This page shows your current plan, payment method (on paid plans), and current usage. The actions you can take depend on whether you're on Free, Pro, or Teams.
Who can manage billing
Only admins can change the plan, update payment methods, manage seats, or cancel. Non-admin members can view the Billing page but the action buttons will be disabled, with a tooltip noting that only admins can manage billing.
Upgrading your plan
Free → Pro (self-serve)
Go to Settings → Billing.
Click Upgrade on the plan card.
The Samepage pricing table appears inline. Pick Pro (monthly or annual) and click Subscribe.
Enter your payment details in the embedded Stripe checkout. Your card is charged immediately.
You're returned to the Billing page and a confirmation toast appears: "Welcome to Samepage Pro!"
Your account is upgraded right away — usage limits jump to Pro's caps (unlimited data sources, 500 Signals per month, 100 Copilot chats per day).
Pro or Free → Teams (contact sales)
Teams isn't self-serve — moving to Teams always goes through the Samepage team.
From Free: go to Settings → Billing, click Upgrade, and pick Teams in the pricing table. This opens an in-app chat with the Samepage team, pre-filled with an inquiry. We'll get back to you to set up your seats.
From Pro: email [email protected] or message the Samepage team from the in-app chat. The Stripe portal doesn't offer Teams as a self-serve plan change.
Managing your plan (paid users)
On Pro and Teams, the Manage plan button on the Billing page opens the Stripe customer portal in a new tab. From there you can:
Switch between monthly and annual billing
Cancel your subscription
Update your payment method
Download past invoices and receipts
Plan changes that involve Teams aren't handled in the portal — see "Pro or Free → Teams" above for how to contact the Samepage team.
When you finish in the portal, close the tab to return to Samepage.
Adjusting Teams seats
Teams customers see an extra Manage seats button on the Billing page. It opens the Stripe portal directly to the subscription-update flow so you can add or remove seats without scrolling through the rest of the portal. Seat changes are prorated against your current billing period.
Updating your payment method
Use the Update payment button on the Payment card (paid plans only). This opens the Stripe portal directly to the payment-method-update flow — no need to navigate the portal yourself.
Downloading invoices
Click Manage plan to open the Stripe portal, then look for Invoice history. Each invoice can be downloaded as a PDF directly from there.
Downgrading
Pro → Free
There's no separate "downgrade" button. To move from Pro to Free, cancel your Pro subscription (see "Canceling" below). At the end of your current billing period your account reverts to Free automatically — you keep Pro access until then.
Teams → Pro
Contact the Samepage team at [email protected]. We'll coordinate the change so workspace-level data (shared Streams, role assignments, shared integrations) is handled correctly before seats are dropped.
Canceling
Go to Settings → Billing and click Manage plan.
In the Stripe portal, click Cancel plan and confirm.
You're returned to Samepage. Your plan card now shows an amber line: "Plan ends on [date]" — your current billing period's end date.
A few things to know:
You keep full access until the end of the current period. Cancellation is scheduled, not immediate.
No new charges. You won't be billed for the next period.
The "Upgrade" button changes to "Reactivate". Clicking it returns you to the Stripe portal, where you can dismiss the scheduled cancellation in one click.
At the period end, your account automatically reverts to Free. Your data, Signals, and connected integrations all remain — only usage limits change.
After cancellation
When the billing period ends and your account drops to Free:
Personal integrations stay connected. Free allows 3 data sources; if you have more than 3 connected on Pro, Samepage doesn't auto-disconnect any of them. New imports may slow as you hit usage caps, but no data is deleted.
Existing Signals stay. You can still view past runs. New Signal runs count against the Free monthly limit (50/month).
Copilot keeps working at the Free cap (10 chats/day).
Artifact generations (PRDs, release notes, etc.) drop to the Free limit (15/month).
You can re-upgrade at any time from Settings → Billing → Upgrade.
FAQ
Is there a free trial of Pro? Samepage's Free plan is full-featured at lower limits — no trial expiration. If those limits are tight for your needs, upgrade to Pro at any time.
What happens to my data if I cancel? Nothing is deleted. Your workspace, Signals, integrations, and history are all preserved. Only the usage limits change.
Can I be on Pro with multiple teammates? No. Pro is single-seat. To add teammates with shared Streams and role permissions, upgrade to Teams (2-seat minimum).
Can a non-admin see what plan we're on? Yes. Non-admins can view the Billing page and see the current plan, payment status, and usage — they just can't take any actions.
Where can I see how much of my plan I've used? The Usage card on the Billing page shows your current period's usage against your plan's caps for Signals, artifact generations, Copilot chats, and data sources.
