Why Connect Zoom?
Samepage helps Product Managers stay on top of what's happening across meetings without having to attend every one. By connecting Zoom, Samepage users can:
Build Signals to summarize meeting activity and surface key decisions
Spot action items, follow-ups, and customer feedback mentioned in calls
Discover feature requests and recurring themes across meetings
Use the Samepage Copilot to answer questions or draft documents informed by meeting transcripts
Integration Type
Personal integration: each user connects their own Zoom account. The meeting data imported is private to that user and not visible to others in the workspace.
Data Imported
Samepage imports the following from Zoom for each meeting with a cloud recording:
Meeting metadata: Title, date/time, duration, share URL, host name, host email, and participant count
Meeting transcript: The full VTT transcript is downloaded, parsed into plain text with speaker labels, and stored as searchable chunks in the vector database. Transcripts are split into 5,000-character sections so the AI can search and answer questions about specific parts of longer meetings.
AI Companion summary: If Zoom's AI Companion generated a meeting summary (overview + next steps), Samepage imports it and uses it as the primary summary.
Sync Behavior
Initial sync pulls Zoom recordings from the last 3 months
Ongoing syncs pull Zoom recordings from the last 1 week
Zoom's API limits date range queries to 30 days, so Samepage iterates in monthly chunks during initial sync
How to Connect
Important: Your Zoom account must have cloud recording enabled. Zoom does not provide transcripts for local-only recordings, so Samepage can only import meetings that were recorded to the cloud.
You must have an existing Samepage account. If you need one, sign up at samepage.ai.
Go to the Integrations page in Samepage.
Find and click Zoom.
Authenticate your Zoom account and accept the requested permissions.
Samepage will begin your "initial sync" and import the past 3 months of meetings. This may take many hours for large Zoom accounts. You can see the progress of your syn on the Integrations page.
Multiple times per day, Samepage checks for and imports any new meetings. You can always manually trigger a sync by selecting the three-dot menu on the Zoom integration and choosing "Sync."
What You Can Do After Connecting
Create Signals that analyze Zoom meetings. e.g., "Summarize the latest meeting activity from Zoom" or "Surface action items and follow-ups from this week's calls"
Chat with Copilot about meeting content. e.g., "What did the team decide about the pricing model in yesterday's call?" or "What feature requests came up in customer meetings this month?"
Combine with other data. Cross-reference meeting discussions with Jira tickets, Slack threads, or CRM data for a complete picture, e.g., "Did the customer mention any bugs not already logged in Github?"
Signal Examples Using Zoom
Signal | What It Does |
Meeting Activity Summary | Summarizes key themes discussed, action items, and notable decisions across recent meetings |
Customer Feedback from Calls | Surfaces customer feedback and feature requests mentioned during meetings |
Follow-Up Tracker | Identifies meetings that need follow-up and outstanding action items |
Cross-Team Decision Log | Highlights decisions made in meetings that may affect product direction |
Example Signal Prompt
Here's a detailed prompt you can paste into a Signal's instructions field to get a comprehensive weekly meeting digest:
Review all Zoom meetings from the past week and produce a structured summary organized as follows:
Decisions Made — List each decision along with which meeting it came from and who was involved. Link to the Zoom recording.
Action Items & Follow-Ups — Pull out every action item, commitment, or next step mentioned across all meetings. For each one, note who owns it and when it's due (if mentioned). Flag anything that sounds urgent.
Customer Feedback & Feature Requests — If any meetings involved customers or discussed customer input, surface the specific feedback, feature requests, or pain points mentioned. Group by theme if there are multiple.
Key Themes — Identify the top 3-5 recurring topics or themes across all meetings this week. Note which meetings touched each theme.
Needs Attention — Call out any meetings where a conflict, risk, open question, or unresolved issue was raised but not resolved. Include enough context that I can decide whether to follow up.
FAQ
Does this integration provide clickable links back to the source? Yes. Zoom meetings include a URL that links directly to the recording in Zoom. When a Signal or Copilot response references a meeting, it often includes a link so you can click through to view the recording and transcript in Zoom itself.
Privacy
Zoom data is never used to train AI models. Meeting transcripts and metadata are processed only to generate Signal outputs and Copilot responses. Because this is a personal integration, your meeting data is only visible to you. See Data Handling for more information.
