Why Connect Microsoft Teams?
Samepage helps Product Managers stay on top of what's happening across Microsoft Teams without having to monitor every channel and chat. By connecting Teams, Samepage users can:
Build Signals to surface key decisions and updates from Teams channels
Spot important cross-team discussions that affect product direction
Discover action items, feedback, and requests shared in team conversations
Use the Samepage Copilot to answer questions or draft documents informed by Teams data
Integration Type
Personal integration — each user connects their own Microsoft Teams account. The data imported is private to that user and not visible to others in the workspace.
Data Imported
Samepage imports the following from Microsoft Teams:
Messages — Messages posted in selected channels and chats
Threads — Full thread replies attached to messages
Channel activity — Activity and context from selected channels
This data is used to help Product Managers research themes, track decisions, and stay informed across cross-team communication.
Sync Behavior
Initial sync pulls messages from the last 3 months
Ongoing syncs pull messages from the last 2 weeks
How to Connect
You must have an existing Samepage account. If you need one, sign up at samepage.ai.
Go to the Integrations page in Samepage.
Find and click Microsoft Teams.
Authenticate your Microsoft Teams account and accept the requested permissions.
Select which channels Samepage should sync. You can update your channel selection at any time from the Integrations page.
Samepage will begin importing data from Microsoft Teams automatically, refreshing multiple times per day.
What You Can Do After Connecting
Create Signals that analyze Teams conversations — e.g., "Surface key decisions from engineering and design channels this week" or "Identify cross-team updates that affect the product roadmap"
Chat with Copilot about Teams data — e.g., "What did the infrastructure team discuss about the migration?" or "Summarize the updates from the partner channel this week"
Combine with other data — Cross-reference Teams discussions with Jira tickets, Intercom conversations, or Zoom meeting transcripts for a complete picture
Signal Examples Using Microsoft Teams
Signal | What It Does |
Cross-Team Update Digest | Surfaces key decisions and updates from Teams channels that affect product direction |
Decision Tracker | Identifies decisions made across Teams channels so they don't get lost in the conversation stream |
Stakeholder Activity Summary | Summarizes what stakeholders across different teams are discussing and flagging |
Escalation & Blocker Watch | Spots escalations, blockers, and urgent requests raised in Teams channels |
Example Signal Prompt
Here's a detailed prompt you can paste into a Signal's instructions field to get a comprehensive cross-team communication digest:
Review all Microsoft Teams messages from the past two weeks across my selected channels and produce a structured summary organized as follows:
Key Decisions — List each decision along with which channel or chat it came from and who was involved. Include a link to the Teams message where possible.
Cross-Team Updates — Surface updates from other teams (engineering, design, sales, support) that could affect the product roadmap or current priorities. Group by team.
Action Items & Follow-Ups — Pull out every action item, commitment, or next step mentioned across all channels. For each one, note who owns it and when it's due (if mentioned). Include links to the original messages.
Escalations & Blockers — Identify any escalations, blockers, or urgent requests that need product team input. Prioritize by urgency.
Key Themes — Identify the top 3-5 recurring topics or themes across all channels. Note which channels touched each theme.
Keep it concise. Use bullet points. Include links to Teams messages wherever possible so I can jump to the source.
FAQ
Does this integration provide clickable links back to the source? Yes. Microsoft Teams messages include a web URL that links directly to the message in Teams. When Signals or Copilot reference a message, you can click through to view the full conversation in Microsoft Teams itself.
Privacy
Microsoft Teams data is never used to train AI models. Data is processed only to generate Signal outputs and Copilot responses. Because this is a personal integration, your Teams data is only visible to you. See Data Handling for more information.
