Getting Started with Samepage

Overview

Getting started with Samepage takes just a few minutes. The goal is to get you to your first running Signal as quickly as possible — ideally before you finish your first session.

Step 1: Create Your Account

Sign up at samepage.ai. You'll be asked to provide:

  • Your name

  • Your company name and URL

  • Your job title

This information helps Samepage tailor suggested Signals and understand your context.

Step 2: Tell Samepage What Tools You Use

You'll see a list of common workplace tools. Select the ones you and your team use — this helps Samepage suggest relevant Signals and prioritize which integrations to recommend. You don't need to connect them all right away; this step just helps with recommendations.

Step 3: Set Up Your First Signal (Web Signal)

Your first Signal is a competitive/market monitoring Signal powered by web search. This doesn't require any integrations — it runs immediately.
Samepage will:

  • Use AI to identify your likely competitors based on your company name and URL

  • Pre-fill a competitive tracking Signal with those competitors

  • Let you customize the competitor list, schedule (defaults to weekly), and time range (defaults to last 7 days)

You can review the Signal output right away. This gives you an immediate "aha" moment and helps you understand how Signals work.

Step 4: Connect an Integration and Choose Your First Signal

After your web Signal is running, you'll be prompted to connect one of your actual tools. You'll:

  1. Connect an integration (authenticate and accept permissions)

  2. See suggested Signals tailored specifically to that data source — these are curated for the tool you just connected, not generic suggestions

  3. Pick the Signal that looks most relevant to you and activate it

Note: Integration data may take some time to import depending on volume. Samepage will email you when your Signal is ready.

Step 5: Explore Your Daily Signal

Once your Signals are running, your Daily Signal view becomes your home base. You'll see:

  • A summary card across all your Signals

  • Individual Signal cards with insights

  • The Copilot assistant on the right for follow-up questions

Tips for Getting Started

Start simple: Begin with 1-2 Signals that map to things you check every morning. Common first Signals include competitive tracking, what shipped this week, and communication triage.
Frame it around your morning routine: Think about what you want to know with your first cup of coffee. That's a good Signal.
Don't over-connect initially: You don't need to link every tool on day one. Start with 1-2 data sources and expand as you find value.
Check suggested Signals: After you connect a data source, Samepage shows Signal suggestions tailored to what you just linked. These are often the fastest way to get immediate value from a new integration.
Share what you find: When a Signal surfaces something useful, share it with your team. This is how adoption spreads naturally.
